There are a lot of new things coming to Palm Springs.  I was driving down the street yesterday and saw that this building in the Uptown Design District which used to be a very large design and furniture store on Palm Canyon Drive is about to become a new restaurant.  There are a few new hotels coming to town and even more.  But what I want to write about today is how Palm Springs, more then ever, is holding onto its mid-century modern architectural roots.  There are a few new housing developments under construction currently and they are mostly designed with this look and feel.  More than ever, Palm Springs is using the look to brand itself...and it seems to be working.

This is the classic Butterfly Alexander house that most Palm Springs visitors and residents know and love.
This particular house is in the South Palm Springs neighborhood of Twin Palms Estates, which was the first neighborhood built by the Alexander Construction company.  Now check out this new home being constructed in the same neighborhood.
It's like an Alexander house on steroids.  If any of you are interested in purchasing one of these brand new homes, here is the information for them.
